Reaching The Unreached
Asia suffers from high inequalities in the health sector. Many rural communities remain completely deprived of healthcare. In the least developed countries of Asia, there is on average one doctor per 1,000 inhabitants. There are several reasons for this lack of coverage: administratively fragmented countries, mountainous regions difficult to access, precarious populations unable to pay for medical care.
The documentary will follow these heroes as they go out of their way to bring medical care – while dealing with the harsh and often lonely journeys on land, in the mountains, and on water.Â
