Singapore on track to meet its 2030 climate action targets: Teo Chee Hean
Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean said Singapore's renewed goal of reducing carbon emissions to between 45 and 50 million tonnes by 2035 is an ambitious challenge. Singapore is one of just 13 countries to submit their new targets on time to the United Nations. The US recently pulled out of the Paris Agreement, while others are wavering on commitments. Mr Teo said the longer countries wait to act, the more disruptive their eventual transition will be. He added that Singapore is on track to meet its 2030 climate action targets.
