Singapore and Laos ink carbon credits deal to help both sides achieve climate targets
Singapore and Laos have signed a deal on carbon credits that will help both sides achieve their climate targets. It will also facilitate investment, create jobs and encourage the deployment of clean technology. The deal took place during Laos Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone's visit to Singapore, as both countries commemorate 50 years of diplomatic ties. As the current ASEAN Chair, Laos is set to host Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and other regional leaders at the ASEAN summit later this year. Aslam Shah reports.
