The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Monday (May 20) applied for arrest warrants against Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and top Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh and Mohammed Deif on suspicion of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Netanyahu called the arrest bid "absurd", while Hamas said it "strongly condemns" what they called attempts to "equate the victim with the executioner".Â
