HDB tops up over S$165m for neighbourhood renewal; 25,000 households to benefit
The Housing and Development Board has set aside more than S$165 million in fresh funds for neighbourhood renewal. This will fund 17 projects in areas like Bukit Panjang and Sengkang, and is expected to benefit more than 25,000 households. The projects will now also include senior-friendly amenities like therapeutic gardens and fitness trails. Speaking at the completion of the new playground, National Development Minister Desmond Lee also announced an enhanced lift access housing grant. It's been nearly tripled to S$80,000 from S$30,000 if families opt to move to a housing block with better lift access. Singles will get a S$40,000 grant to do so, up from the previous S$15,000.
