Changi Airport's quarterly passenger traffic tops pre-pandemic level for first time
Singapore's Changi Airport has marked its first full quarter surpassing pre-pandemic figures. 16.5 million passengers travelled through the air hub in 1Q2024 - a 0.5 per cent increase on-year compared to 2019. The airport handled more than five million travellers each month. Changi Airport Group said the strong traffic was boosted partly by Singapore hosting many music concerts. China became Changi's top market again, rising from sixth place last year. Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said Changi Airport is working toward its goal for full-year passenger traffic to exceed pre-COVID levels.
