Association working on guidelines to standardise training procedures for beauty & wellness industry
The Specialists in Wellness Association Singapore says it is working with industry stakeholders on a set of standardised guidelines that it hopes can be released by 2027. For massage providers, it is recommending a minimum of 300 training hours for therapists. Another suggestion is classifying providers by their roles - ranging from those who provide simple relaxation services to experienced ones who understand the human body. Two people died in Thailand recently after massage sessions, including a Singaporean tourist. Charlotte Lim with more.
