ASEAN needs to find a common position on Myanmar election: Thailand

Thailand has emphasised the need for common ground among ASEAN nations to respond to Myanmar's planned elections. The bloc's foreign ministers and representatives wrapped up the last of three meetings on the issue in Bangkok today. ASEAN stands firm on its peace plan for Myanmar — the Five-Point Consensus — which makes no mention of elections. But Myanmar has made clear its intentions to hold elections next year.
