Are 3D-printed tiles the way to save coral reefs on the brink of extinction?
Coral reefs are the core of marine ecosystems and protect coastal areas. A Hong Kong startup called Archireef is using 3D-printed terracotta clay tiles to try and restore coral reefs at risk of being wiped out. Archireef claims a 95 per cent survival rate for baby corals. So far, the startup has seeded an area of about 500 square metres in both the UAE and Hong Kong. CNA's Jack Board speaks to the people behind the business.
