02:01 Min

During the six-day East-West Line train disruption, about 160 bus captains and up to 80 free bridging buses were deployed daily. This was the longest continuous period that such services were activated. At any one time during the busy periods, there were up to six double-decker bridging buses to help clear the load. More than 600 ground staff from the Land Transport Authority, public transport operators and the police were also deployed daily. Train operator SMRT will pay for all bus bridging and free regular bus services. Charlotte Lim reports.
