Parents arrested over death of their 8-month-old son; police alerted to the case at KKH

SINGAPORE: A man and woman have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the death of their eight-month-old son, the police said on Tuesday (Sep 3).
The police were alerted to a case of death at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) on Monday at about 12.40am.
A 21-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were subsequently arrested in relation to the case.
The woman and man will be charged in court on Tuesday for causing and allowing the death of a child below 14 years of age in the same household, respectively.
The offence is punishable with an imprisonment term of up to 20 years, and shall also be liable to fine, or to caning.
Police investigations are ongoing.
