SINGAPORE: A 40-year-old man will be charged in court on Thursday (Aug 22) after a fight in Geylang involving a 67-year-old man, who died of his injuries.
The police said in a news release on Wednesday that they were alerted to a fight along Geylang Road at about 2.35pm on Aug 3.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the 40-year-old man had allegedly assaulted the 67-year-old victim.
The elderly man was taken conscious to hospital, but died of his injuries on Aug 19.
The 40-year-old was later arrested by the police. He will be charged on Thursday with voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
If found guilty, the man faces up to 10 years’ jail, and a fine or caning.
