Yasmin Jonkers

CNA Presenter

Yasmin Jonkers is on the ‘Asia Now’ team, where she presents, produces, and interviews newsmakers and experts. Among her recent guests were Chelsea FC owner Todd Boehly, US science envoy Dr Rumman Chowdury, and Moderna Co-Founder Dr Noubar Afeyan.

Yasmin also tracks aviation stories for CNA.  She kicked off 2025 by looking at business jet growth in Asia, and is planning more high-flying stories down the road.   

You’ll also hear her voice on documentaries and podcasts.  Two CNA Special episodes were shortlisted for ‘Best Narrative/Documentary Podcast’ at the New York Festivals Radio Awards 2025 - The Waves That Changed Us: Asian tsunami 20 years on (Part 1) and The Waves That Changed Us: Rising from the Asian tsunami (Part 2).

Yasmin has presented coverage of both Singapore and Indonesian elections.

In 2019, she co-anchored ‘Asia First in Hong Kong’, a week-long television and radio special on the anti-government protests, local elections, and the future of the territory. From 2019 to 2023, she was co-anchor of ‘Asia First’ on CNA938 radio with Arnold Gay.

Yasmin’s long broadcast career has included stints on ESPN Star Sports’ flagship shows ‘Sportscenter’ and ‘Score Tonight’, and sports programmes on Starhub and Fox Sports Asia.

She spent her undergraduate years at the University of Oregon, and then went on to do post-graduate studies at the London School of Economics and Maastricht University.
