Wei Du directs, produces, and presents documentaries and current affairs programs for CNA.
Her recent documentary series, Walk the Line, which saw Wei following a group of Chinese migrants on their perilous journey through Latin America to reach the United States, was recognized as Best Documentary Series at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in 2024. Her previous long-form reporting has also won multiple international accolades.
Wei was named Best Factual Presenter at the Asian Academy Creative Awards and was a nominee for Presenter of the Year at the AIB Awards in London.
Since joining CNA in 2010, Wei has served as a business presenter in Singapore and a roving correspondent based in Hong Kong. She has covered a wide range of major events, including the protests in Hong Kong, disbarment talks on the Korean peninsula, and the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Wei has a Master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. In 2020, she was selected as a Journalist Fellow at the University of Oxford's Reuters Institute.
Her professional career started at CNBC U.S. Before joining CNA, Wei worked as an on-air reporter for Bloomberg TV in Hong Kong.
